Our fair trade, organic Yirgacheffe was obtained through the CHICHU Cooperative in Ethiopia. Established in 1976, the coop now lists 1600 members. The elected executive committee makes decisions about investments such as purchasing new equipment, standards for tree maintenance and how to structure payment to members. The CHICHU cooperative has set a goal to become the best quality organic coffee producer, processor, and exporter in Ethiopia. We're happy to offer you this special coffee.

Notes: Fully washed and sun dried on raised beds. Nice floral aroma, with a delicate body. Highlights of blueberry, orange & lime come through an underlying creaminess.

This is a taste-driven, 100% chemical free decaffeination process that delivers coffee that is 99.9% caffeine-free, while protecting the unique origin characteristics and flavor. Most other processes use chemical solvents, like Methylene Chloride or Ethyl Acetate to decaffeinate coffee beans. Swiss Water is a unique technology that uses pressurized, heated water, which circulates through the unroasted beans, causing them to absorb the water and swell. The pores of the beans open, allowing the caffeine to wash free from them.
